Our Americana Star Beanie comes in five sizes from baby to adult large. Each has a fold-up red and cream striped rib brim, a navy crown with a band of cream stars in easy stranded colorwork, and an optional pompom. Knitted in the round – a quick, satisfying project for parades, ballgames, fall festivals and Veterans Day.

You will need

Worsted weight yarn in navy, red and cream, US 6 (4 mm) and US 8 (5 mm) 16 in circular needles and DPNs.

Safety

For babies and children under 3, leave the pompom off or attach it very firmly, check it often, and remove hats for sleep.
