1940s Turban Headband Knitting Pattern PDF

Our Teal 1940s Twist Turban Headband is a vintage-look headband in dusty teal DK: a moss stitch band gathered at the front by a wrapped tab, giving the classic 1940s twist.

Suitable for confident beginners: knit, purl, simple increases and decreases.

The design

• Dusty teal DK wool
• Wide band in moss stitch (seed stitch) all over
• Gathered at the centre front into a soft twist
• A neat stocking stitch tab wrapped round the gather
• Joined into a loop; the join hides under the tab

• S: to fit head 50–53cm; band length (round) 46cm; band depth 10.3cm; tab width 4.1cm
• M: to fit head 54–57cm; band length (round) 50cm; band depth 11.4cm; tab width 4.1cm
• L: to fit head 58–61cm; band length (round) 54cm; band depth 12.4cm; tab width 5.0cm

• Tension: 22 sts and 37 rows = 10cm over moss stitch on 4mm needles.
• Also: A large-eye yarn needle.
• Skill: beginner (knit, purl, simple sewing up)
